OUR HISTORY & MISSION STATEMENT

Combat Academy was founded by several instructors from multiple backgrounds. None were happy with the systems they were currently training in so all congregated and developed mindsets and a curriculum that would ensure students with skill, virtue, substance and fortitude. In the years following, more people from other backgrounds joined and each brought their flavour to our ever evolving dojo where we teach authentic, street effective martial arts.
Our team of instructors have practiced a variety of martial arts for decades. Most have worked within the security industry, crowd control, armed forces and in prison guarding and have real world experience in real violence. These are not theoretical martial arts. The techniques have been tried and proven over the decades. Our classes are based on classical martial arts with a strong emphasis on structure and discipline. Classes combine techniques from Karate, Judo, JuJutsu, Western boxing, Thai kickboxing and Kobudo (Japanese and Okinawan Weapons arts).
The classes have a level of contact that you will determine with your training partner. All classes are physically difficult and challenging but enjoyable through your sense of achievement. We do not give away or sell black belts.
The average journey to this level is well over 10 years of consistent training. 
We do not do competition fighting, although if you wish we can assist with it.
We prefer to concentrate on the lessons from the classes and the journey rather than focusing on a particular goal or destination.
We have frequent world class teachers guest instructing in multiple disciplines as well as students training with us from multiple systems from all over the world including celebrities. 
On top of the hard physical training, we attempt to instil a strong sense of budo virtues in our students. Virtues like Honour, Integrity, Benevolence, Courage, Sincerity, Loyalty, Justice, Etiquette to name a few.
Our school is long established, our teachers are admired and respected and our curriculum is tried and proven.
